Sarasota continues its positive trend as a great place to live and work, with two major announcements affecting job growth were made this week.
According to BusinessWeek.com, Maine’s Jackson Laboratory and the University of South Florida, in conjunction with Sarasota Memorial Hospital, plan to create a new research center in Sarasota County. This is expected to create thousands of high-paying job opportunities in Sarasota, sure to spur economic and real estate recoveries. On a different scale is the announcement from Costco of its plan to open a warehouse at the Sarasota Square Westfield Mall just west of Palmer Ranch; making it the latest of over 400 emporiums nationwide. The Costco plan calls for razing of the currently closed Dillard’s anchor store and adding on at that location.
As progress marches on, more jobs for Sarasota can only be positive for the continued recovery of the area.
