The 6th Annual Sarasota Indian Festival
Over the past six years, American Indians in Sarasota have taken a weekend to share their traditions, history and culture with the people of Sarasota. This year will be no different! This weekend will be filled with the culture of the American Indians. For example, an American Indian historian named Chippa Wolf will provide a battle reenactment and Matthew Horse and the Southern Horse Drum will be sharing the culture of Native American Indians through song and dance. Entertainment for the weekend will be provided by Mark Barefoot who is an award winning flute and drum and flute maker. If none of those spark your interest, there will also be American Indian art for sale such as sculpture, paintings, pottery, jewelry, and leatherwork…and, of course, food.
