Sarasota has been awarded a handful of accolades over the years and the area is well known for a number of attractions, events and, of course, the gorgeous Gulf coast location. Now there is another feather Sarasota and her barrier islands can add to its cap.
The international subsidiary network of high end Broker’s known as Christie’s International Real Estate recently listed Sarasota as one of the top 10 small communities in the world attracting high net-worth individuals buying high priced homes. London received the top ranking spot but other locations included Monaco, Martha’s Vineyard, Jackson Hole and Miami.
Sarasota County has sold 218 luxury properties priced at $1 million+ since the beginning of 2014. Only 173 properties priced at $1 million+ were sold during the same time frame in 2013. The most expensive property sale this year was a breath-taking, Gulf front manor on Siesta Key selling for $10,250,000. Along with the expensive and luxurious homes throughout the county, Sarasota continues to lure famous Buyers to the area.
