Buccaneer Bay
BUCCANEER BAY
ONE OF FLORIDA’S MOST DESIRABLE BAY-FRONT COMMUNITIES
This community just may be one of Florida’s hidden gems. As you turn down Buccaneer Lane from Tamiami Trail, it’s not until you make it a little way down the road that you’re greeted with big, mature trees lining the road and a welcoming community sign perched under an American flag.
Buccaneer Bay provides beautiful waterfront living with views of the canal or Intracoastal Waterway. Dock your boat in your backyard and enjoy easy access to the bay without having to take any bridges.
The quiet community sits west of the trail and consists of two main streets, Buccaneer Lane, which is right off Tamiami Trail, and Captain Kidd Avenue, which is parallel to Little Sarasota Bay. Several other smaller side streets take the pirate-ridden name, Buccaneer Circle, Buccaneer Court, and Buccaneer Terrace.
You can find a variety of homes to fit your budget in this high-demand community. Some homes reflect moderately priced traditional Florida-style single-family homes with shingled rooftops; while other bay-front homes are more luxurious and mimic that of traditional Mediterranean style architecture with terra cotta roofs, stucco walls, arch motifs, and lovely balconies.
This is a great, family-oriented neighborhood with an optional annual HOA fee of $300.
School-aged residents have access to the highly-rated Sarasota County School District, which is a public school system that serves all of Sarasota Country. Students are assigned to the school in the attendance area in which their parents live. You can search the assigned elementary, middle, and high schools by address on the Sarasota Country School District website.
Buccaneer Bay is just a short bike ride from one of the country’s top beaches, Siesta Key beach, and it’s minutes from a beautiful 36 hole golf course in the nearby Palmer Ranch community, mini-golf, shopping at the Gulf Gate mall, restaurants galore and Downtown Sarasota. It also has convenient access to I-75. This community really has it all.
