You’ve heard it a thousand times – location, location, location.
The tried and true real estate mantra holds true in Sarasota real estate as well. Not only because Sarasota itself is an amazing location, but within Sarasota, location is key.
We are very fortunate that the vast majority of our city is in a desirable real estate location. But as is always the case, some areas are going to have more intrinsic value, and hence be more expensive. When looking at Sarasota real estate, the closer you are to the beach/Gulf, the Bay front, or downtown proper – the more expensive the property is bound to be.
This market has seen remarkable reductions in values, prompting multiple sources to name Sarasota, Florida as the best buy both nationally and internationally. But although the sliding scale has slid to the low end, the rules still apply – overall, beach and waterfront properties are more expensive than those on Elm or Oak Street.
Often we receive inquiries regarding properties that seem obscenely low priced, yet they have been on the market for some time. Virtually all the time, it is due to location. The truly well priced properties, in the best locations, sell very quickly. So although this is a fantastic time to purchase property, perhaps now more than ever, location is key. And it will cost you, relatively speaking, a bit more.
But it is well worth it.
